Our comprehensive range of services include: cross-country pipeline construction,

sewer and telecommunications.

distinct yet common divisions: Pipeline Construction & Maintenance,
Utility & Gas Distribution, Horizontal Directional Drilling and

:: HISTORY
A&L Underground, Inc. was founded in 1977 by the
President, Alex Lowe. Beginning with the purchase of a single ditching
machine, A&L Underground, Inc. focused on construction of gas
distribution projects in a three-state region that consisted of Kansas,
Oklahoma, and Missouri in the United States. As A&L's service
area expanded in the 1980's into the South, Southeast and Rocky Mountains
regions of the United States, A&L continued to develop new technologies
and combined that with growing capability.
Out of the gas distribution projects developed a
demand for growth into Municipal utilities and telecommunications markets.
Upon the development and manufacturing of mid-range horizontal directional
drilling rigs in the mid 1980's, A&L Underground, Inc. quickly
established a new division dedicated to Horizontal Directional Drilling
(HDD).
During the same period another division began to emerge
dedicated to the ever-expanding gas and liquids transmission pipeline
market. The Pipeline Division evolved into a dedicated department dealing
with various diameters of steel pipeline projects.
All of this gained A&L Underground, Inc.
recognition and we were named to the 1997 Kansas Technology Fast 50 Awards
for demonstrating leadership in technology and exceptional sales growth.
:: INTERNATIONALLY
The most recent division added by A&L Underground,
Inc. is its International Projects group. This fast expanding
division is based on long term success in Mexico and South American where
A&L has performed both HDD, facility and pipeline projects for a wide
variety of privet and Governmental customers. A&L has now completed
pipeline work in Iraq which has spawned division offices in both Turkey and
Jordan. International business interests currently include
projects located in the following countries or regions:

Underground, Inc. has always taken pride in “thinking outside the box”.
This attitude led to several key technology developments and now to a fast
growing International Projects group. We are now dedicated to serving
customers outside the US with the same focus and expertise our US customers
have grown to expect over 29 years.
A&L International began this International venture
with its Directional Drilling Division installing gas and oil pipelines
under rivers in Mexico fifteen years ago. We have since been involved in
telecommunication installation, electric power transmission, and
environmental remediation as well as pipeline construction throughout
Mexico, with offices located in Mexico City and Tampico .
A&L has developed relationships in Turkey, Jordan,
Mexico, Venezuela, India, Bangladesh, Iraq and Nigeria. We have substantial
equipment and US trained foreign nationals and expatriates in several
countries. They have extensive open cut, directional drilling, gas
transmission, gas distribution and telecommunication design and
construction training and experience.
